The story makes me think of her family and how hard it must be having others place judgment on them. The lady who told them the pool rules, speaking S L O W L Y as if they couldn't understand her language or when the neighbors asked her to speak Spanish to the gardener. It goes to show how ignorant people can be.

5. What is one thing you did not know before you started the reading that you now know (again, be specific using concrete examples)? 1 percent

I never realized how hard it must be living in a place where people constantly judge you based on the color of your skin.

I learned to use the eyes of others as my mirrors. But only those people whose eyes are clear and shine with laughter and love."(pg. 102)

4. What did the reading make you think of? (be specific eg "There is a bridge in SF that spans 4 miles from SF to Oakland and in the middle of the bridge it crosses an island called Treasure Island. This reading made me think about my childhood and how I can relate to her own experiences about growing up. When she was describing her experiences it slowly brought me back to when I use to go to the fair and all I wanted to do was go in the fun house. I remember the smell of the cotton candy, the taste of the summer air, and the freedom of being a child. Feels like just yesterday.

5. What is one thing you did not know before you started the reading that you now know (again, be specific using concrete examples)? 1 percent
I never knew how important it was to experience things in the summer between school years. I feel that's were you learn your street smarts, when you are out in the world experiencing things, that you cant learn in school.

This story makes me think of that specific little island where I can see the entire city and bay area. That city was also in the news recently where .... ) .75 percent
This story made me  think about the good times I have had at concerts or even listening to small bar bands. Music is such a wonderful thing and if they are playing the right tone, its always fun to get up and dance. It must be hard to be an entertainer and try to impress the crowd.
5. What is one thing you did not know before you started the reading that you now know (again, be specific using concrete examples)? 1 percent

I never thought about how hard it must be to entertain a crowd and keep the party going. I learned from reading it takes some skill and practice and a little bruising!

These beautiful beaches connects with our study of humanities by culture and diversity. California is known for beautiful beaches that provides a place where people can go to find peace, comfort, experiences, and knowledge. These beaches help provided one to understand the originality of each place and relate it through music and culture.
Contains the following elements that will be used in upcoming projects for analytical purposes:
What are some assumptions/stereotypes you think people have of each location: 1 point

Both of these beaches are in California so the stereotypes might be a little similar. One might think California beaches are filled with good looking people, hot sun, peaceful waves crashing, parties, and lots of activities to do. Bodega Bay might be stereotyped more are the romantic gate away and Seal Beach might be stereotyped as a party getaway.
List 3 things that make each location similar: 1 point

Both amazingly beautiful with great views, attraction tourist, both located in California.
List 3 things that make each location so different: 1 point

Seal Beach has more activities on the beach than Bodega Bay.

Bodega is colder that Seal Beach.

Seal Beach is fast paced and has a younger age group as Bodega Bay is low key and a romantic setting.
Questioning: What else would you like to know about these places? When completing the question section, lead your audience into the question by stating a fact you do know, yet you still have the related question. This way, both your audience and you will have an educational experience. .5 point

I know that each of these beaches are wonderfully different and many people travel to visit them. I want to know which beach people prefer to go to? The laid back romantic setting or the hip and up beat setting?

I read Jessica Bozzetto blog from last week. She did her 3A assignment on Chicago and New York. I learned that people stereotype New Yorkers as not being friendly and always in a hurry. I also learned the stereotypes on Chicago is that its called the "Windy City" because its always windy.

Los Angeles and San Francisco

Contains a web link to your locations. (eg you can use the tools in your blog where you paste your work; there is a little icon that looks like a link) .25 points

These cities relate to our study of humanities in many ways. One way is both of these cities are very different and have many diverse things about them. They are unique and hold many different cultures that leave them a like as well. In both of these cities people express themselves through clothing, culture, music or dance that relates to studying humanities. These two large cities are filled with much religious culture, that I find interesting.

Contains the following elements that will be used in upcoming projects for analytical purposes:
What are some assumptions/stereotypes you think people have of each location: 1 point

I think that Los Angeles has the stereotype of being stuck up and rude. Many people think Los Angeles and they think Hollywood. Where all the rich and famous people live, where all the women are beautiful with big boobs and blonde hair. Many people stereotype San Fransisco as being liberal and free. Where a lot is populated by gays and high class business men. Either way stereotypes of California tend to lead to "Liberal tree hugger", more toward San Fransisco then Los Angeles.
List 3 things that make each location similar: 1 point

Three things that make each location similar is diversity, the two are very large cities and they both have a large population on wealthy class people.

List 3 things that make each location so different: 1 point

Three things that make them different are the weather, the size of each city, and the population.

Questioning: What else would you like to know about these places? When completing the question section, lead your audience into the question by stating a fact you do know, yet you still have the related question. This way, both your audience and you will have an educational experience. .5 point

I know that San Fransisco's and Los Angeles are two cities filled with great diverse culture. They are both very popular and people travel all around the world to visit each city but what I would like to know is which one is visited the most. Where do people prefer to go to San Fransisco or Los Angeles? And why?

I read Christina's Ambrosini blog from last week. She research Santa Cruz, Beach boardwalk. I really enjoyed her blog and learn that the boardwalk is 100 years old. She hopes to visit it in the near future because the last time she visited it she was only two.
