Assignment 1C

The first blog I read was Sheena Dudley's. She taking this class to fulfill one of her G.E requirements and she hopes to learn more about the study of human thoughts and creativity associated with cultural context. When I read her blog on Paulo Freire I learned more about his educational concept "Banking". I learned that he wanted the teacher to have a very close relationship with the student so they could teach each other. A teacher who learns and a learner that listens. Another thing i learned was about Paulo Freires institution. I knew about the institution that contributed to his theories of education but what I didn't know was there are many countries who maintain Freire's archives to this day. This information relates to our studies in humanities by knowing different cultural educational values and the difference between them and ours.



The second blog that I read was Rebekah Consani's. She is also taking this class to fulfill one of her G.E requirements and she is also hoping to learn more about the culture in California. When I read her blog on Paulo Freire I learned his first career was a lawyer. I also learned that Paulo Freire was arrested twice and in political exile for 15 years. This relates to our studies in humanities because it helps us understand the different laws of other cultures and their government systems.
