Asssignment 4C

1. Who is your classmate, what is the component category, what is the name of the choice?

I choose Samantha Patterson. We both did our assignment 3c on Seal Beach vs Bodega Bay


2. What is something similar this classmate said about the choice?

Samantha and I both focused on how both beaches provide a place where people can go to have fun and explore the diversity in each beach. I stated that people could go to find peace,comfort and experience and she stated people could go to surf, build a sandcastle, and bring families together.


3. What is something different this classmate said about the choice?


Samantha and I have differing opinions on the stereotypes of Bodega bay. She stated people might not think it is as exciting as Seal Beach because its colder in weather. Also that there might be more of an older crowd there. In difference I stated that that Bodega Bay might be stereotyped as a romantic getaway rather than Seal Beach might be more of a party place.


4. How would you relate this to Freire's ideas regarding dialogue? For example, you went in thinking one idea, your classmate had a different idea. What new idea emerged from this process?

I went in thinking that these beaches are very unique in there own ways. I had my ideas on what I thought of both beaches and how visiting them had a lot to do with my opinion. In reading Samantha's blog, I found new ideas and information on both beaches. For example on our differing opinions, it expanded my ideas and views on each beach. I found in reading her blog it helped me generate new ideas that I never thought of.
